United States Military is represented in every Christmas in Ida Parade of Lights.

Parade entries begin arriving a week before the parade.

The Christmas in Ida Parades averages 125 units annually.

The National Champion Owl Creek Clydesdales.

Parade entries participate from the states of Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.

Animation at it’s finest

Drum and Bugle Corps entertain parade visitors.

Every parade unit is illuminated.

Animated working floats with music.

There are many musical groups and marching bands performing to your delight.

Floats over 110 feet long, illuminated with over 10,000 lights.

Over 4500 volunteer hours are committed to the Christmas in Ida Festival.

International participation.

Farm implements, antique tractors and combines are a yearly feature.

An estimated 32,000 visitors line the streets of Ida to share in the Holiday celebration.


Personalities who have participated include Ronald McDonald, Wendy, Miss America Kay Loni Raftko, Ernie the Keebler Elf, Detroit Tigers Paws, World Champion Boxer Bronco McKart, the Grinch, Big Bird, and Louie the Lighting Bug.


Downtown parking and shuttle bus parking service is located on the north and south entrances to the village. Shuttle service provides visitors with easy parking and a warm ride into town.


Youth groups such as 4-H, Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts participate year after year.

Over the road show trucks are presented by members of the National Association of Show Trucks.

There is no parade entry fee and there are 12 prize categories.
